I hesitated spending so much money on a set of knives for over 12 months. Why I waited, I have no idea. Anyone looking for a super sharp, well balanced knife need look no further. Would recommend these to anyone. I bought the Icon black knife block with them and they fit perfectly.

Quickly became my favorite knife. Holds an edge, good profile, nice handle. Good value also.

perfect pairing for my chef's knife
I was after a good utility knife to go along side my chef's knife (gyuto) and wanted one with the Damascus. The 12cm feels my the perfect size. The 15cm for a lot of other utility knifes seems like it'd be too long for my liking.

Precision instrument and a work of art
This paring knife is like no other I've had. At 99 g. it sits comfortably in my hand not feeling heavy or lightweight. The razor sharp blade and point, glide into the fruit and vegetables without resistance requiring no effort - like waving a baton in the air! Then to finish of, the wavy pattern of the damascus blade always captures my eye when washing it, appreciating the fine art of Japanese craftsmanship.

Premium Japanese knives
Since 1932, Yaxell has been crafting professional kitchen knives using traditional Japanese sword-making techniques perfected over 700 years. It is based in the city of Seki in Gifu prefecture, the renowned sword-making capital of Japan. After carrying weapons in public was banned, demand for swords dropped significantly. Local swordsmiths channelled their skill to producing an essential product—kitchen knives of the highest quality.
Yaxell knives are made with the most advanced technology and materials combined with the unsurpassed expertise of skilled craftsmen who forge the knives by hand. A special heat treatment process makes the blade incredibly durable, able to hold its edge, and resistant to corrosion.
Exceptionally sharp, remarkably strong, and strikingly beautiful, Yaxell knives are made for discerning home-cooks and professional chefs.
