The Great Pan Exchange
Ever wondered what to do with your old pots and pans? A staggering 72% of Australians toss their old cookware in general waste bins, which equates to a massive 2.7 million pieces of cookware ending up in landfill each year. That's 7,000 pieces per day! On top of that, some non-stick cookware can contain toxic PFAS, or 'forever chemicals', which don't break down and continue leaching into the earth for years to come.
All of this is obviously bad news for the environment, which is why Kitchen Warehouse is proud to offer The Great Pan Exchange, a convenient and safe way for you to recycle your old cookware in an environmentally responsible manner, at any of our stores across Australia.
The Great Pan Exchange enables you to recycle your old, damaged cookware, knowing that it will be broken down and given a second life, reducing the amount that ends up in landfill each year. All you need to do is bring it into your nearest Kitchen Warehouse store and drop it in The Great Pan Exchange bin and we'll recycle it in a responsible manner for you. In addition to cookware, we can also recycle baking trays.
We can recycle any cookware made from iron, steel, aluminum and copper, as well as non-stick surfaces. Your old cookware will be transported to a recovery facility where it's weighed and inspected, before being sorted into two groups; ferrous (steel and iron) and non-ferrous (copper, aluminum, zinc), then shredded, sheared and baled. Every component gets a second life.
When you recycle your old cookware via The Great Pan Exchange, we'll give you a 10% discount on a new pan from the Ironclad Pan Co. or 10% off all Wolstead cookware, so you can replace your old items with something fresh and new!
