Kitchen Warehouse is thrilled to present Hayley McKee, one of Australia’s most exciting and original cake artists, in an exclusive event with Hardie Grant Books.
Hayley will hold her only book signing and kitchen chat in Perth for her stunning debut cookbook Sticky Fingers, Green Thumb at Kitchen Warehouse Midland on Thursday 19 April 2018.
A self-taught baker and avid gardener originally from the Perth hills, Hayley is known as one of Melbourne’s top cake artists through her Sticky Fingers Bakery established in 2010. Her signature is earthy, soulful, and seasonal baking featuring homegrown garden flavours. Her creations, such as porcini caramel and chestnut cake and beetroot rose truffle cake, are truly one of a kind.
In 2016, Hayley landed on the cover of the Epicure/Good Food Guide, ranking no. 1 for wedding cakes in Melbourne. Her work has been featured in numerous national and international publications including Vogue, frankie, Peppermint, and Real Living. Hayley has also hosted unique dessert pop-up events and baked for the likes of The Australian Ballet and fashion house Romance Was Born.
Sticky Fingers, Green Thumb invites you to travel out of the kitchen and into the garden. Almost sixty recipes celebrate vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers in cakes and other baked creations. Tips on how to harness their unique flavours, prepare them for baking, and even grow them yourself will inspire you to create flavour-packed baked treats that are not loaded with empty gestures.
