My parents had a Hawkins Pressure Cooker back in the early 1950's and when I found one in an op shop, than married with 3 children, I was delighted. It served me for many years till we immigrated from NZ to Australia in 1999 and it was reluctantly left behind. Then I found another Hawkins, the same model in the local hardware shop. This one also served us well until we downsized in January and somehow my beloved pressure cooker got mislaid. I have just upgraded to this stainless steel one and am just as satisfied with the Hawkins brand as ever, but pleased it is now available in stainless steel. It is simple to use though those new to the brand may need to follow recipe instructions until they are familiar with its use.

Wonderful Hawkins 5 litre pressure cooker now in Stainless Steel -induction ready
I have been using Hawkins pressure cookers since I was a boy. Simply amazing hard working cooking devices. Save a fortune on fuel and makes quick and nutritious meals including fast rice, beans, vegetables and bone broths. Only recently could you buy them in stainless steel -so I gave away my very old 5 litre cooker and bought the new stainless steel version. The same cooker with the same gaskets and weights etc but now in safer stainless steel. All for under a $100. a bargain for my old favourite. If you have never cooked on one - you will love the soups and fast speeds that you can cook. Comes with an awesome international cookbook with 150 tried and tested recipes (worth $20 in itself) Make the jump and learn a new way of cooking that you will learn to love, My mum made quick and amazing dumplings in a few minutes after making a lovely chicken soup. I recommend few products and this is one of them.
