Riedel, the wine glass company, is known throughout the world for its hedonistic range of grape varietal specific glassware that promises to enhance both the body and the nose of your wine, allowing you to most accurately experience its true character. Riedel can also boast with almost 250 years of tradition, staring out in Northern Bohemia in the 18th century, and a whole host of international prizes for their glassware. Their revolutionary new concept of creating a specific glass for specific wine has been introduced in 1973 with the handmade Sommelier glasses. To make their glasses more affordable, Riedel started producing their Vinum series in 1987. The Ouverture series was introduced in 1989 and it is Riedel's most versatile range of affordable quality glassware. Later, the company also added the O series, wine specific stemless glasses.
